Argentine Supreme Court Justice calls 'Cuadernos' case development inadmissible

Buenos Aires, Nov 18 (NA) — Supreme Court Justice Ricardo Lorenzetti described the development of the 'Cuadernos' case as 'inadmissible', stating that it is due to the abandonment of state policies.

'This cannot be, it is not admissible. It is not right for society to have a mega-case trial like this. The point is why this happens and what needs to be done,' he said in an interview with Radio Rivadavia.

Lorenzetti pointed out that the problem lies in the organization, not just the judges. 'There has to be a structure that supports those judges so they can do their job,' he emphasized.

'What is lacking is the commitment to state policy,' Lorenzetti stated. He recalled that when he joined the Court, they developed a state policy plan that included, among other things, addressing mega-cases.
